BACKGROUND
The ANDY GUMP FOUNDATION is doing real work in turning the earth,
laying the foundations, and building the structures that grow young minds.
It is not a 'registered charity'.
It is not offices with overhead or boards with salaries.
It is not a pool of money red-taped and stagnating in foreign aid accounts.
It is direct action with solid effort for basic needs: “Childhood is for learning”.
Developed and driven by Dave and Brenda Godmere,the ANDY GUMP FOUNDATION is inspired by
the actions and attitudes of their young son
Andy (nicknamed "Andy Gump") who passed away shortly before his 15th birthday in 1996.
Dave and Brenda are hard-working,
self-employed, community-minded
parents (now grandparents) from the
small Canadian town of Vankleek Hill,
Ontario and they use all the time,
resources and money they can spare
to build, supply and fund grass-roots
projects in Guatemala, Mexico, Nepal,
India, Dominican Republic and Canada.
The ANDY GUMP FOUNDATION's efforts focus on education,
giving children options in life so they can better determine their future.
This website is my small contribution in communicating the work my brother and his wife do without the weight (or the "wait") of governments, bureaucracies or complacent communities.
